Bayanihan 101

My best friend Emily came over on the 17th to visit me before she left for Iligan the next day. During our catching up session she showed me photos of Iligan during this whole ordeal. It was heart breaking, especially for her… this was her home town.

Milenyo was the last calamity I’ve been through, Ondoy didn’t affect me but it did affect people I love. I know how hard it is to be helpless in situations like this and you can’t do anything but hope for the best.

During hardships like this, the Filipino bayanihan spirit is tested. People helping each other out in whatever way they can, reaching out to people they don’t know, risking their own lives. That’s the Filipino spirit for you.

Here’s a photo of Emily when she was reunited with her friend:

One of the lucky ones to survive Sendong’s wrath.

For those of you who want to reach out  please visit Bayanihan Online any form of help will be greatly appreciated. Yes, even prayers count.

Don’t be dense like Ms. Kris Aquino; click here for details. I’m sorry but I’m really ashamed of her and how she represented the Aquino family in this difficult time. We all know how tactless she is, but this is ridiculous.
