New Project?

I have been watching too much TV that I have been depressed about Greek ending for almost two full days. I seriously need to find something to do.

Cook/Bake There’s nobody to feed.

Photography Project I feel uninspired. We’ll see.

Read New Books I think I’ll be swamped with tons of readings by the time I get to school, so I’ll sit this one out.

Food Blogging Too lazy to explore and try stuff. Plus, I’m not really in the mood for food right now.

Run I have started running last week.

That’s pretty much what I had in mind, but there could be other things I could do. Any suggestions?

Apologies on Cake Boxes

As you get older, you get wiser, but the most common misconception is that age is equivalent to maturity, it’s not. Oh hell it’s not.

We were brought up in a world that accepted only black and white, we have forever lived by the standards of society; not coloring out of the lines. The thing is, in this day and age – not everything is just black and white, in the real world we learn about the various shades of gray and I’m not just talking about 50.

What I’m trying to say is, people make mistakes. They hurt the people who matter most to them, they make the wrong decisions and regret it. At the end of the day it’s not about who’s wrong and who’s right but it’s about who’s willing to make the first move and man up to their mistake.

I know I made a mistake when I chose them over you. I’m sorry.

Time for Change

I’m inggit with Aia’s layout. I’m getting tired of my blog’s layout so I have decided to do a whole lot of tweaking, the problem is; I suck at tweaking. Then, I remember my multiply account click here  and wonder how the hell was I able to pull that design and layout off with Statistics class every morning and Genetics class after lunch.

I guess, I’m just looking for inspiration I’ve been a little demotivated lately.

Instagram Culture

The app gods had blessed us with a virtual photo-dairy when Instagram was created. We upload all sorts of things there, from little bits and pieces of our childhood to the little oddities of our every day life.

The remarkable thing about this app is it’s simplicity. The idea that you’re able to take a photo, add a caption and hashtag your heart away, made it quite easy for people to fall in love with. Heck, I remember a time when I was only following 10 people. Then 160 people later, can be quite the experience.

I, myself have a little of bit of everything on my account but there are definitely different types of users.

1. The Foodie
I have reason to believe that Instagram became the must-have app for foodies. It was definitely a quicker way to share and recommend places. A lot of people had gotten used to the idea of taking photos of their food and posting it for everyone to see. Instagram has given rise to foodie-friendly apps like Looloo. I super love that app, read about it here.

2. The Fashionista
We usually see them on Lookbook but since Instagram has provided a more user-friendly interface plus access to a lot more people you’d see why fashion posts have landed as special place on this social network. These users have been the source of various forms of shorthand hashtags like OOTD (Outfit of the Day). I love the fashionistas, they not only focus on clothes, but they also do make-up, nail art, shoes, hair, accessories and all those pretty shiny girly things we all love. P.S. There are boys categorized under this type too. They use a more subtle hashtag to save what’s left of their man cards.

3. The Photographer
Now being that I have tons of photographer friends, my feed is definitely filled with their lovely hi-resolution photos. Now, there’s a difference between a real photographer and wannabes with a really nice phone. Know the difference.

4. The Narcissist
These people have nothing on their accounts but their faces. Yes you got me right. NOTHING. BUT. THEIR. FACES. Except for the clothes and the background, the facial expression, the smile, it’s all the f*cking same. And what’s more annoying is that they post their photos like 834 times a day. “Good Morning” “At Work” “Having tea with my friend @personnotinphotobecausethisismymomenttoshine.” “Goodnight.” Oh my lord, get something else to do.

5. The Proud Parents
There will come a time when the babies grow up and wonder why they have tons of photos on the internet in a square format with a terrible looking frame and filter, when that time comes… they will have Instagram to blame. This just doesn’t apply for human babies, no. This also goes to people who are overly attached to their pets. This type is definitely on my ‘favorite’ list, I just can’t get enough of cute babies and adorable puppies. Who can hate that?

6. The Autophile
There can only be so many angles of your car but for someone like me, I’m not complaining. Definitely a favorite. Since there no exact app for car photos and what-have-you, Instagram has definitely given a home to these grease monkeys.

7. The Hashtag Happy
I cannot express how annoying it is to see 15 lines of hashtags. I have this one friend who posts a photo of her bag and she hashtags every single detail, from the color to the texture to the brand and not to mention all the random tags like #instagood #igers #igersmanila that have no relation to her post whatsoever. Can we just be normal people and not go overboard with the hashtags? #We #Don’t #Need #To #Put #A #Hashtag #On #Every #Single #Word

8. The Promoter
These people are the one that don’t post that often, but when they do, you can be sure that it’s about promos and contests.

9. The Traveler
Now, this is definitely another one of my favorites. I’m not really a fan of travelling, but I love seeing photos of different places. I enjoy seeing posts of friends who have been to quite nice places. Just recently my friend Carlo went on a wedding shoot in Sri Lanka, gave me a glimpse of why my dad’s country was like. I’m definitely excited on visiting there soon. Okay, we’re getting off topic. This sure beats having to actually get up and travel, yes I’m lazy like that.

10. The Clutter-Brain

This, is me. As I have mentioned earlier my Instagram account has all sorts of things. If I were to compare it to something, it would definitely similar to Ariel’s cave of odds and ends. I have food, babies, pets, nail art, cars, regrams from 9Gag, friends, events, etc. Cluttered is one way of putting it.

At the end of the day, we all post whatever we want. It’s up to people if they want to follow our little quirks or not.

Keeping Busy

I’ve got good news, and bad news.

The good news is, I’ve finally decided to start my book. The bad news is; with school plus business plans plus writing my book minus internet, I might not be able to update my blog as per usual, I’ll try my very best though.

P.S. I am going to create one of my characters based on one of my favorite girl friends; Aia.

Thanks for believing in me Babes!

Words

I guess the only brightside to not having internet connection is that I actually have time to re-read my books.

After doing the errands for the day, I picked up Jean Sasson’s book; Princess. It’s actually an exposé on Princess Sultana’s life. The reason this book intrigued be in the first place is because it’s a true life story about a Saudi Arabian princess. Who wouldn’t want to read that? The book was perfectly written and I kid you not; you will end up in tears. Thank you to my Tito Steve for lending me this book by the way.

I’d like to say that I really admire literary heroes who aren’t afraid to speak their mind in the form of writing. They are truly amazing people, changing the world with the magic of their words.

There’s this one literary hero I’m dying to know about but… I can’t seem to find much information about him online. This man was truly a remarkable person, I believe this because, without him, I wouldn’t have the most amazing father in the world. Yes, this man is my great grandfather. In their country, his work is part of schools’ curriculum, just like how we study El Fili and Noli. His face is on mailing stamps like how Queen Elizabeth is on the stamps in the UK. There are monuments of him in his hometown, in memory of his honor. All this, and I never knew much about him. Sometimes I think I’m missing out on a lot. I can see how proud my dad is of him, I can see that sparkle in his eyes whenever he talks about him. Someday, I am going to make my dad proud of me, and when he talks about me, you’ll see that same sparkle too. I may not be a literary hero, a math genius or a world-renowned scientist, but I am still a work-in-progress.

Give me time, I’ll change this world.
